Aftercoolers

The only way to remove moisture from the (hot) compressed air is to let it cool down first. An aftercooler cools the compressed air to about 9°C above ambient temperature. This drop in temperature causes the water to condense and form droplets. These droplets are then removed by the centrifugal water separator. Oil and other contaminants can be removed in a second and third stage with fine filters.

Compressed air aftercoolers are available in pneumatically and electrically driven versions and range in capacity from 1,000 l/min. to 30,000 l/min.
